The report presents profiles of female leaders with inspiring track records and backgrounds. It features female entrepreneurs and artists side-by-side with businesswomen who, amid the challenging environment of 2020 (especially for women), continued their success, brought their dreams to life, and pursued their visions.

While there were restrictions and foregone opportunities in the year 2020, there was also a renewed energy for action. The editors of Home & Market shared:

“This phenomenon was reflected in women’s activism. During the first lockdown, women reconciled a great many responsibilities: working from home, caring for children who were studying online, doing mundane household chores. On top of all that, they had limited mobility and could not easily access the services that we used to enjoy as pastimes. Despite this, we all lived up to the challenge. If we define our goals, name them clearly, and communicate our thoughts to the world – we will have a chance to succeed. Our female heroes did just that.”

Aneta Podyma-Milczarek shared that it was an honor to receive this award.

“We all had an extremely difficult year. It took a lot of effort to make things work, but we managed. To be a part of this recognition is such an honor and homage to the energy of women – and their strength in the face of adversity.”

She also added that “the report may include only 50 women, but it celebrates hundreds of thousands of women in Poland who bravely faced the challenges of 2020.”

Other winners include such celebrities as Olga Tokarczuk (writer and Nobel Prize in Literature winner), Iga Świątek (a tennis champion), Katarzyna Bonda (a writer), Ewa Błaszczyk (actress and founder of a clinic for people in a coma), Anna Dymna (community activist), Martyna Wojciechowska (reporter and globetrotter), and many other successful women.
